WTVK 26 1982 Worlds Fair intro

Ahh.. I remember this... Take note of the advertisements.. In a few short months Southern Industrial Banking, United American Bank and the Jake and C.H. Butcher Banking empire will be no more.. But Jake played a big part in getting Knoxville the Worlds Fair, too bad it resulted in part in one of the biggest bank failures in US history. Enjoy!

Curse of The Captain

Well, it seems it Early Show is getting revamped yet again... I think every incarnation of any CBS early morning show will be doomed to utter failure, Cursed by the Captain for cancelling something that should not have been.... Ahhh the good old days....

Continuation of Dolly

As Promised... Here's Dolly On Cas Walker's Show

Most of us know Dolly Got her start in Knoxville on Cas Walker's Farm and Home Hour, but not many have seen some of her performances.. here's a short clip of one. :)

Pat Sajak on WSMV Weatherman!

Ahh i love this clip.. speaks for itself...

NBC 1979 vs 2011

Today NBC is in a precarious ratings situation.. much as it was in early 1979 in the dark days of Fred Silverman... Univision is getting more viewers now! Anyway, compare this clip of promos for Turnabout, Hello Larry and Brothers and Sisters... compared to today's schlock I think it stands up well... Turnabout seems to be lost with only a couple of episodes know to exist unless they are on some lucky persons betamax collection or in the vault... anyone have clips with station id's?

WBIR CAS WALKER FARM and HOME HOUR

There is nothing like locally produced TV especially if it is as classic as the East Tennessee Icon himself, Mr Cas Walker. For our premier clip feature... we feature the old coon hunter himself.
My if tv was like this today.... We will be featuring more Cas in the coming weeks. As many know, Dolly Parton has Cas to thank for her stardom.

Welcome to the Party!

We have a passion for vintage television. Here we hope to discuss all that is classic TV with a focus on the more obscure and local segments we can find. Please feel free to contribute if you have a vintage rare or favorite clip, kinescope, etc of local, national or really anything TV. Thanks and have fun!
